It was a race in which organizers expected that it will took around two hours and 20 minutes for the fastest. But, in the end, 60km Kaiser Maximilian Lauf in Seefeld lasted an hour longer. Another part of the series Ski Classics was significantly influenced by heavy snowfall. "It originally was a tough race, but with an extreme snowfall it shifted even further," said Bauer, athlete and Team PIONEER Investments director.
He finished 23rd (loss of 36 seconds), his teammate Ilya Chernousov was eight, just 3.7 seconds behind the winner Nygaard. Barbara Jezeršek gave up around the mid of the race in harsh conditions. "She had big problems, so resigned. We regret it because she was well prepared. In addition, we will miss her points in the team competition. So, overall, I´m average satisfied, but I'm glad that Ilya, even in these conditions, was fighting for the podium till last meters" said Bauer.
